 · For over 60 years, Hurst has been the shifter of choice for some of the most recognizable muscle cars to come out of Detroit. Today, Hurst maintains a wide variety of shifter products including automatic shifters, manual shifters, shifter knobs, and shifter handles. The Hurst mounting brackets are used in all installations. Use the stock transmission bolts to fasten the brace, bracket, and leg to the transmission. The hardware supplied with the Hurst shifter kit fastens the brace, bracket, and leg together. Refer to Figure 1 for the correct installation parts to use with your application. 1. Remove stock shifter and linkage. 2. Install the mounting plate on tailshaft. Tighten all bolts securely. Install the shifter onto mounting plate. Tighten mounting bolts. Insert the nylon bushings into arms. Assemble the hooked ends of the rods into arms and secure with spring clips.
